We know that you’d rather be at Cliff Park taking in the views of the city or grabbing a bite at Manito Taphouse than thinking about the cost of new floors and how to correctly install them.

Why is it Important to Hire the #1 Floor Installer in South Hill, Spokane?
When you’ve been around as long as us and the Park Inn, you’ve seen just about everything. Unfortunately, we’ve seen a lot of mistakes too from homeowners or sub par contractors. If the subfloor, underlayment, or floor installation is done incorrectly it can look awful and can cause squeaks, cracks, compromise waterproofing benefits, void warrantees, and lead to the product not lasting as long as it was intended.
We take the time to do it right, starting with the subfloor. This is especially important with some of the older homes in the area like Cannon Hill and Rockwood. Choosing the right underlayment or carpet padding for the room’s use is also critical to help protect the subfloor and the floor itself.
South Hill Flooring
Carpet
After getting home from a long day skiing at Mt. Spokane or sledding at the park, the feeling of carpet flooring on your bare feet is almost as good as a trip to the spa. It’s the most common type of floor for a reason. We can talk you through how the loop and pile differences contribute to both comfort and longevity. Of course, we will then provide the best carpet installation on the South Hill as well!
Laminate Flooring
Laminate has become the top choice many landlords and first time home buyers since it is one of the most affordable options, but has advanced to become durable, more comfortable, and can even provide waterproofing with WetProtect technology.
It is so much better than what was released back in 1977. At that time an unattended mess could damage both the surface and subfloor, causing necessary replacement of the entire brittle and uncomfortable floor. It’s truly remarkable how much this surface has changed over the years.
Sheet Vinyl Flooring
We all remember the tacky, cold, and hard sheet vinyl floors in an old basement laundry room. Todays sheet vinyl still excels in moist areas, but it is softer, warmer, feels good, and aesthetically has so many more options than those “groovy” 70s patterns. It can be stylish for kitchen or laundry rooms while providing the protection you need.
Hardwood Flooring
You often find solid wood floors in Comstock or Rockwood both because of when they were built and since they are a preferred choice when updating. White oak and red oak are most common in the area with some old growth douglas fir solid hardwood floors still out there. There’s other options though too, like maple, hickory, and even bamboo. They all feel great, last an incredibly long time, and have little maintenance making them an excellent investment for your home.
Engineered Hardwood Flooring
For updating options, many customers in Southgate and Latah creek are turning to engineered hardwood. Engineered hardwood flooring costs less than solid planks and has better stability and moisture control due to the unique core made of HDF or plywood with a wood veneer on top available in various depths. The depth of the veneer wear layer determines how many times they can be resurfaced giving it longevity and value with the same natural beauty of solid wood.
Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring (LVP)
Because of the cost, comfort, durability, and maintenance, LVF (consisting of both Luxury Vinyl Planks (LVP) and Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT), is an extremely popular product.
Luxury VInyl Plank is completely synthetic, yet mimics hardwood in aesthetics that are surprisingly realistic. The straightforward installation helps keep costs down, although preparing the subfloor correctly is extremely important and may be time consuming. When installed correctly it has excellent water resistance as well.
Luxury Vinyl Tile is used more in bathrooms or laundry rooms since it is completely waterproof. On top of mimicking the look of wood, it comes in realistic natural stone and other patterns as well.
Tile Floor
A modern tiled bathroom or kitchen is highly sought after because of it’s beauty and ability to stand up to very high rates of moisture. The two main types are ceramic tile which is easier to install because it is less dense, but still often lasts over 30 years, and porcelain tile which is denser making it more labor intensive to cut and install, but often lasts over 50 years.
Mosaic and terrazzo are incredible centerpieces while subway and glass tiles are often complementary, but increasingly focal points of their own.
Duradek Vinyl Decking
We know the South Hill loves quality. The best outdoor flooring for Spokane is Duradek. It is a waterproof deck solution for patios and decks that looks amazing, is virtually maintenance free, and holds up to the four seasons of the area. The unique Duradek Ultra Waterproof Vinyl Membrane is the reason why.

The South Hill's Best Flooring and Installation
Carpet Installation
Our carpet company excels at customer service. This means that we will discuss all the options thoroughly from a performance standpoint as well as design and how they work in the different rooms of the house.
When our carpet installers arrive, they will remove the old floors if necessary, get to work on the subfloor, lay the correct carpet padding that you have chosen, attach the carpet with adhesive or tack strips depending on the subfloor, stretch it into place, and finish it with a quick trim, tuck, and vacuum.
After they’re done, they will explain the warranty and make sure you understand care and maintenance procedure. After we leave if you have any issues, just let us know and we can help with that too.
Laminate Flooring Installation
When installing laminate, it all starts with getting the subfloor prepared properly to make sure the rest of the process goes smoothly. Great care is taken to do this correctly so we can then lay the underlayment as needed and carefully cut and snap the laminate together making sure to avoid gaps.
After a quick finish with quarter round or moulding, we’ll chat about maintenance and the warranty, and leave you to enjoy your new floors!
Installing Sheet Vinyl Flooring
To maintain the waterproof features of sheet vinyl you must make sure the subfloor does not have any exposed edges, scraps, nails, and that it’s perfectly flat so it doesn’t puncture the material. Once this is done, masterfully cutting and adhere the material is the next step paying extra attention to any seams so the product retains the waterproof benefits and lasts as long as it should.
Hardwood Floor Installation
Our hardwood floor contractors will arrive up to two weeks early to make sure the new hardwood floors are correctly acclimated to your homes temperature and humidity. This is necessary to prevent future buckling, cracking, and warping. Once they’re ready, we get to work on the subfloor and nail down or glue the planks with gaps on the end to allow the natural material to “move.” Finishing by reinstalling trim will hide these gaps.
Engineered Hardwood Flooring Installation
While engineered hardwood wood planks also need acclimated, this is usually only for 2-3 days. After subfloor preparation and removal of unnecessary materials, it is clicked in by tongue and groove or glued depending on the specific type. The finish is similar to solid wood with expansion gaps and trim.
Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring Installation
Before LVP flooring installation a short acclimation period is also need for LVP. Once our LVP floor installers begin the subfloor is carefully corrected or leveled so that cracks and buckling do not take place in the future. A tapping block and mallet are common tools of the trade to click the pieces in place, leaving it gapless, and retaining water resistance.
LVT is similar, except the adhesion is with a specialized adhesive, leaving a permanent and waterproof finish.
Tile Installers
Tile is the most time consuming install that there is for most applications. After our tile installers have a completely level surface, mortar, grout, and sealant must set and cure multiple times to ensure the job is done right. This process results in a completely waterproof finish that is often stunning once the haze is cleared.
